Bondi duo in the pink for charity
06.09.2010
THEY'RE more comfortable in Speedos, but the lifeguards from hit television series Bondi Rescue will sport pink Lycra running suits in the upcoming Blackmores Sydney Running Festival. Andrew Reid and Corey Oliver will be raising money for The McGrath Foundation - a cause close to all the Bondi Rescue blokes' hearts."Our friend's mum had a bout of breast cancer a couple of years back," said Corey, 33, who will take part in the 9km Bridge Run.
"It certainly hit home to a lot of the boys; it's a huge eye-opener.
"You know that it's prevalent, but once you do actually come across it personally, that's when it sinks in a lot more."
Andrew has set his sights a little higher than Corey, looking to conquer the 21km half marathon event with his girlfriend, Jessie-Anne Vandertak.
"I'm a very competitive runner actually so I'm looking to do a good time," he said.

"Corey chickened out so I told him to make sure he had a skirt on and was preparing my breakfast by the time I get in."I'm thinking I might leave Jessie-Anne in my wake too."
"I've been running with a group called the Sydney Striders, combining it with a little bit of swimming to help the lungs out a little bit."
The McGrath Foundation, has a fundraising target of $50,000.
