Autumn swims still tempting but stay safe, say lifeguards
06.04.2010
THE official surf season might be drawing to aclose on the Coffs Coast but conditions for swimmers
haven't been better.
Coffs Harbour City Council senior lifeguard
Sonny Tisdell said water temperatures were in
their mid-20s at the moment.
"They're very comfortable conditions but because
our beaches are pretty exposed to rip action,
we urge everyone to definitely swim at
patrolled beaches and to be aware of their own
ability," Mr Tisdell said.

"We are anticipating the swell to increase a little
bit over the next few days."
Council lifeguards and surf club members finish
their patrols for the season at the end of the school
holidays.
In the meantime, lifeguards will be at Diggers
Beach each day of the vacation and will patrol
Woolgoolga, Park Beach and Sawtell during weekdays.
The surf clubs will be on watch at Sawtell,
Park Beach, Woolgoolga and Red Rock during
public holidays and weekends.
