Become a lifeguard

The Australian Lifeguard Service employs over 700 lifeguards every year in roles from entry level lifeguard through to lifeguard supervisor.

Becoming a lifeguard is a challenging but exciting time and in this section we have made it easy for you to understand what is required to become a lifeguard in Australia's leading lifeguard service.

Although most of the information contained in this section relates to the Australian Lifeguard Service nationally, there are some instances where individual states have different or extra requirements - when you're reading through please make sure you check on this.
